We have two sewing machines that are 2-needle format, which sews two parallel lines. One has been dedicated to sewing sheepskin jackets, and the other was waiting to be the sheepskin machine (a post bed Adler). We converted the Consew from 3/8" to 1/4", and just to be sure it works as it should, this jacket was a test of that machine. Almost all the seams are French style, flat with a stitch lines on each side of the seam. This jacket confirmed that the machine works well with heavier cowhide. Adjustment of the machine was needed during the production of the jacket, to get it just right.

The pattern is one we've had since 2014, and the only difference is the French seams. We also tested the bar-tacker on the hanger bar. As if that weren't enough, this also tested the Reece 104 button holer, a machine we've spent a year working to get just right. The button holes came out great.

The jacket has a beautiful cowhide which has a bit of shine to it, and looks so classy. The outdoor photographs show the finish correctly, while the indoor photographs tend to emphasize the shine. The leather is dense and weighty, but still very comfortable. It has a plaid cotton lining, with a dull orange sleeve lining, and there's a drop-down pocket in the chest area, which can hold larger phones.

One special treat is the label. It's a vintage label we bought from a very large collection, and has beautiful design and weave.

The jacket has about 4 hours of very light use, and would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'1" with a chest of 43-45", and a weight of about 185-205 pounds.
