This jacket is the first test model we have built using a new American chrome tanned horsehide. This tannery is new to us, and they have extremely grainy hides that are quite similar to WWII hides. The finish is a pure tone of seal brown, and it will slowly edge-wear to a slightly lighter shade of brown (in areas that get the most friction). The overall weight of the hide is just a fraction less than our Japanese horsehide, and it's definitely softer right out of the box.

These hides were a test, and some small scars in the hide were used, but one has to be quite close to see them. They have no effect on the thickness or strength of the leather, and are literally small.

The knits are a new dark russet shade that we've acquired. Some Dubows of this contract were made with brown knits rather than the more famous dull purple shade. These knits are superb—very strong and durable.

The jacket design is a typical size 46 based on originals, with a bit more added in sleeve length. The wrinkles in the back, seen in the photos below, were from sitting in a car. Those wrinkles look a bit extreme in the photos, but smoothen out once the jacket is worn walking around a bit.

Sizing: it's best to compare your measurements to the measurements of the wearer shown in the graphic below. If your body measurements are reasonsably close, the jacket should fit just fine.
