Fit: large shoulders, slender arms and lower torso, somewhat short back.
Leather: veg-tanned goatskin with slight mis-match of shade per cut of the hides. Jacket is worn and shows in the leather.
Zipper: vintage brass Talon
Lining: rayon-acetone in chocolate brown.
Knits: 100% wool in dark brown (softer than our stock USN knits).
USN Stencil: exact copy of Foster USN design
Mouton: beautiful vintage mouton in lighter brown than leather.
Thread: nylon thread with slight contrast.

This jacket was a test sample that we made a few months ago, using veg-tanned goatskin. It is the first of
two patterns that we developed, the second pattern being the one we will use. This jacket is based on one
we took apart, while the other pattern is based on the Foster 55J14 for sale on our site.
The goatskin is a bit stiff now, but will soften with use. Note the subtle differentiation of color from one
piece to another. In the photos, the back looks like it pushes out a bit, but this won't be a problem when the
jacket is worn. It did that when first put on for the photos. |
