Before making a customer jacket, we've made a test model of this pattern. Willis & Geiger M-445B jackets have a very sharp cut, with big, square shoulders. We were able to handle one years earlier, and this pattern is a desirable format of this Navy winter jacket series. In addition to the square shoulders, Willis & Geiger chose to use a single panel of sheepskin for the upper back, while others used a vertically split back.

The sheepskin is comfortable and flexible, easy to wear. The goatskin is from a new tannery we've been wanting to get a shipment from. We had three hides as samples, which were used in this jacket, and a new order will be shipped to us next month. The hides are so beautiful, with plenty of natural grain and an excellent color. The sheepskin seal brown and goatskin have a subtle variation in shade, and look great together.

The parts we used from the original jacket are the label and the buttons. The collar buttons of Willis & Geiger jackets are smaller than the main pocket buttons.

The fit of this jacket is interesting. It's huge for the size...we took apart a size 38 in rough condition, and when scaling up the pattern from size 38 to 40, it fit much more like a size 44. We labelled this as a 42, but it's definitely more like a size 44 in our other jackets. The original jacket we handled years ago was a size 40, and that fit John just fine.

The jacket would fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'2", with a chest of 42-44", and a weight of about 180-205 pounds.
