Edmund T. Church had a number of contracts for Naval flight jackets during WWII, before changing their name
to Burjac Sportswear. This jacket is from their large M-422A contract, and it's in excellent condition. The sizing
of Church jackets is quite large, and this size 44 fits more like a vintage size 46.
The leather is exceptional, with great undertones of reddish russet showing through the seal browm top coat. The
goatskin is quite soft and comfortable, not stiff or hard. The lining is great, with a couple small holes not worth fixing,
and the knits have had a number of holes darned, but we think the knits should stay. The zipper operates perfectly.
Finding jackets of this size and condition from WWII is not easy task, and this jacket, in wearable condition, is one
that can be owned with pride. No patches were ever applied to this jacket.
The jacket fits quite large for a size 44, and is more like a vintage size 46. It would ideally fit someone in the range
of 5'11" to 6'2" with a chest of 42-45", and a weight of about 190-210 pounds.
