This jacket is a test model of a format of Horween horsehdie that we like to call vintage finish. The leather looks new and solid when the jacket is made, but over time, the top color will fade and wear on edges to a lighter color. Most leather will do this, but vintage horsehide from the 1930s-1940s had a tendency to show wear to the top color somewhat easily, and we like that.

Aero had one A-2 contract in 1938, and it's a great looking design, with the fun earlier features seen on A-2 jackets. Note that the jacket only has the larger Anzo United-Carr snaps, and the zipper, on the wind flap side, has a second line of leather against it.

The jacket has about an hour of wear, and still looks near-new. Over time, the top color will wear to a slightly more reddish ligher color, and then to the base-leather shade, which light tan. The weight of the leather is accurate to 1930s horsehide as well. It's not as thick or heavy as Shinki horsehide, but has plenty of body, and isn't overly stiff.

The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'1 with a chest of 42-44", and a weight of about 185-205 pounds.
