We have a test sample Type A-1 jacket available. This jacket is close in design to the Gorgon & Ferguson original contract, and is made with a vintage-finish sheepskin that has an well-used look. The jacket has about two hours of wear, so it's not in unused condition, but it's still quite clean and smart.

The leather has good thickness for sheepskin. Our photos make the finish look more dramatic than it does in person, so please know that the leather is quite presentable and good looking. Photography of this kind of leather tends to look overly dramatic. This is only a test model, and this particular leather was available, but it won't be the production choice showcasing what we intend to make as one of our Type A-1 models. The washed look of the leather was done by the tannery before we cut the jacket up to sew it.

The lining is a beautiful cotton sateen, and the knits are very high quality wool. The buttons are real horn, and the backing buttons are vintage bone units which we looked long and hard to find. The thread is a mid-brown cotton. The snaps are vintage 1943-produced United-Carr Line 24 nickel units.

The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'1", with a chest of 41" to 43", and a weight of about 185-210 pounds. The jacket is shown with a wearer who is 6 feet tall with a 41" chest, and there's plenty of extra room for layering in on the torso.
