This jacket is for sale, and is the first Navy reproduction that Good Wear has made. Made in September of 2009, it was a test model of the Bogen & Tenenbaum contract, after the original in our collection was taken apart. The jacket is on the lower scale of quality, but does look like a vintage original.

The jacket was worn on and off by John's sister, though it probably has less than 20 hours of use. The goatskin is an aniline format, with a soft and comfortable hand. The finish wears easily, but once it's gotten to this point, it won't show much more wear.

The label is a Monarh M-422, as that was the only label available when this test model was made. A free Bogen label will come with the jacket, in the same size. The mouton is vintage 1940s mouton, which is in fantastic condition. The knits are an earlier format that we had offered, but no longer use.

The lining is a dull red rayon, and the zipper is a reproduction Talon. This jacket was made before we owned a botton hole machine, so the button holes are done with a zig-zag machine by hand. The jacket is priced accordingly, and would be a fun beat-around Navy reproduction.

The best fit of this jacket would be for someone in the height range of 5'9" to 5'11", and weight of about 170 lbs. to 185 lbs., with a chest of 41-42". The jacket has a size 44 tag, as it's a bit larger than the size 42 that we took apart, but we've adjusted the sizing of our current reproduction jackets.
