This G-1 jacket is an amazing original from the mid-1950s. The jacket is in superb condition, and is a typical size 44. The jacket is made with heavy and grainy goatskin, chrome tanned with a beautiful tannin smell. Cagleco Sportswear (a shortening of Cape Girardeau Leather Coat Co.) was a company that numerous G-1 contracts in the 1950s, before changing their name to Ralph Edwards, and contracting for the Navy through the 1980s.

The jacket is close to mint - not mint, but close. The leather still has its original tannin smell to the leather, which is pleasant, and the knits are really amazing. Lining shows no signs of use, but the label text thread shows some wear. The front body panel shows where a name tag was sewn on, but the stitching was light, and was cleanly removed.

The Conmar zipper works very well.

This jacket will ideally fit a person who is 5'10" to 6'1", with a chest circumference of 42-44", and weight of 175-210 pounds.
