This jacket is a very solid original G-1, by L.W. Foster. It's one of the earlier 55J14 contract jackets, and was from the period when the size tab was in white cloth under the main label, whereas later versions had the size noted on the main label. The jacket has been fixed by Good Wear, with new cuffs, mouton and zipper applied. We also tacked down the label better.

The jacket is around a size 40, but please note the sizing below. The design of the Foster G-1 is very cool—the waist area is snug, and the shoulders quite wide, with somewhat long sleeves. It has a very sharp profile.

The waistband has some small holes in it, but we didn't think it worth replacing. The lining is very sold, with only a few small holes along the collar line - also not worth doing anything to. The leather is superb, with a heavy–thick, grain quality and still with the vintage tanning smell (pleasant, not weird or with any body odors). The replaced zipper retains the original slider, and the original zipper chain was nickel, just as the replacement is.

Ideally, a person of about 5'7" to 5'8", with a 38-40" chest would be ideal for the jacket. Please feel free to ask any question about the jacket via info@goodwearleather.com. 		« Return
