The button hole machine did well on the collar tab, but not on the pocket flaps, so a regular machine stitching did the button holes. They look good, are clean, and are completely stable, but just not done with a Reece button holer. Otherwise, this jacket is superb, and ready to wear. The Gordon & Ferguson M-422A jackets are not only the most commonly seen in WWII, but are very comfortable, too. The design has no areas that are overly sung or wide, and in the right size, they look great. This jacket is made with a goatskin that is neither heavy nor light, but just the right balance of weight and flexibility. The mouton is vintage, from an era when tanning mouton created a golden shine to the fur, and the knits are a dull purple color, which most (but not all) G&F jackets are known to have. The lining is a robust burgundy color, and has good weight. The zipper is a vintage WWII Talon in unused condition.
