These are 1930s and early 1940s jackets that were made with mouton panels and horsehide for the rest. They often had very thick lining material, so the jackets were meant to keep the wearer very warm in cold weather. Our take on this design is from a number of originals. Being that it is a test, the final design will have some differences. The jacket has a very standard fit, and will look great on a person with these dimensions: 5'11" to 6'2" (180.5cm to 188cm) and have a 43-45" (109.5cm to 114.5cm) chest. The horsehide is a thin and somewhat soft American leather, and we seldom use it. The grain on the sleeves is quite pronounced. The mouton is vintage 1950s Laskinlamb mouton, and is beautiful, with a slight tanning odor that is quite pleasant. The zipper is a reproduction late 1930s riveted model, and is marked Waldes. The belt buckle is a vintage 1940s nickel plated brass unit with some nice patina. All the parts work great, and the jacket is comfortable. The lining is a very heavy wool, and the sleeves are lined with vintage rayon. The pockets are lined with cotton. An interesting and fun detail is the fur label - it's a vintage 1940s label, and we have many of them.
