We've gotten a 2.5 ounce russet Horween Chromexcel® horsehide and this is the first test model of a vintage Hercules jacket. We really like the horsehide, and the pattern. It's a little thinner than Shinki horsehide, and has a beautiful pull-up finish. The jacket is comfortable, and unlike some Chromexcel horsehides cut to 4 ounce weight, this 2.5 ounce is easy to wear, and gets wrinkles as vintage horeshide from the 1940s does.

16 months ago, we were able to purchase a very destitute vintage Sears-Roebuck Hercules that was made by Monarch Mfg. in 1939. The jacket was falling apart, but we like originals in this shape, as they're the easiest to take apart to copy. We did just that, and this is the first test model of the jacket. The major difference between this test and the original is that we added 1/2" to the body length, and 1" to the sleeves. At a later date, we will have the label copied, but for now, we offer the Monarch labels that we have. Note the angled front panels from hip to zipper—the original is identical to this.

This jacket is made with a nicely matching plaid cotton lining, brown cotton sleeve lining, vintage Talon chest zipper and vintage Talon main slider on a reproduction brass zipper, and brass buckles.

This jacket will ideally fit a person who is 5'10" to 6'1", with a chest circumference of 41-43", and weight of 175-205 pounds.
