The ideal body dimensions for this jacket are shown below, and with the right sizing, it will look fantastic. The jacket is made with Horween horsehide, which is on the softer and somewhat lighter scale than most tend to think Horween produces. They offer a very wide range of hide thickness, and this jacket is solid, has good weight, but it's not overtly heavy or stiff. It has some custom features requested by the customer. Our Californian Imperial is a loose representation of the famed Hercules series of jackets. The panels are of the same configuration, but the jacket has details we've chosen, and customers are able to pick details they like. The jacket was made for a shorter but muscular fellow, so the back has a little less height at the half-belt level, which we think looks better than a high half-belt. The metal parts are all nickel, with the zippers being vintage Talon sliders. The nature of how Horween tans their hides, and then finishes them, makes this kind of horsehide look amazing with a few weeks of wear. The grain really pops, and these can look indistinguishable from originals of the 1930s. The leather will get a light tea-core effect as the jacket is worn. The main Californian label is one of our copies of the original of that period. The Montgomery Ward label is a real vintage label, and the Hercules label is also one we had created based on the original Hercules we own and its label. The labels and their position were a request from our customer.
