This vintage original M-444A is quite amazing. The condition, for its age, is great, and the jacket can be lightly worn.
The sizing is rather large for a 42, and it does fit John comfortably, as the photos show. We have handled about ten original
M-444A jackets, and this one is by far the best in condition.
The sheepskin is quite flexible and strong. Though it can be worn, we wouldn't suggest going to the office wearing it every day,
but considering the modern condition of WWII Navy sheepskin jackets, this one has held up extremely well. We call it used, but
really, there are no visible signs that it was worn for any extended period of time. The cuffs are as new, the zipper works great,
and the thread appears to be holding up very well. All parts are original to the jacket.
Oddly enough, there's no pocket tag. Monarch was quite consistent in applying size and lot tags to the inside of one pocket, but
this jacket has none.
The jacket comes with some history of the airman who owned it (photos and full name). This is an extremely rare treat. The jacket
has a subtle musty smell, but this would go away with some time in fresh air (actually, one great way to get rid of such odors is
to leave the jacket in a car trunk during very hot temps, for about 2-3 days).

one of the sheepskin suppliers to the Navy. They are famous for Laskinlamb mouton, as well as sheepskin. These images are not
