Pritzker & Sons G-1 55J14 is a wonderful example of a larger vintage Navy jacket. The condition is solid, wearable, and of all its original parts. The goatskin is heavy and a little stiff, with some parts thicker and more stiff than others. The lining looks new, except for a little creasing from wear in the lower back. The mouton looks like it came from the factory. The knits have some areas of darning which we did on the waistband and cuffs, but they're solid and should stay. The Conmar zipper works great--we do suggest gentle management with it. The right shoulder has some surface flaking, which only affects the top surface of the leather. The dermis is just fine. The leather throughout the jacket exhibits some flaking of the seal brown coloring to the peanut base, but it's typical wear for a jacket of this age. The leather has a faint odor of the original tanning method. It's a smell that many originals in good condition have, and subtle. It's not musty, but definitely has a vintage effect. The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10" to 6'2", with a chest of 41" to 43", and a weight of about 175-205 pounds. We call it a size 44, but it might be a 46. Every size tag on vintage Pritzkers we've seen is so badly made, one cannot read the type showing size.
