This jacket is a test of a type of cowhide we've found that shows wear fast. The hide has a wax finish, and will show scratchs and edge wear easily, but can also be buffed to clean it up. The hide is a bit heavy, soft, and somewhat smooth.

The jacket has been worn for about three hours, and one can see the wrinkles in the sleeves that have developed. This isn't seen on stiffer leathers, but it definitely looks good, and will only look better with more use.

The other details of the jacket are typical for a Rough Wear. The jacket is comfortable in the right size, and after a few months of wear, it will be hard to distinguish from a well worn original.

The Crown slider that we used is vintage from WWII, and the pull tab spring has broken (long before it was installed). The slider works perfectly, so its use on the zipper is no trouble at all, but the tab doesn't flip to vertical without spring. It will go to vertical by gravity, and we have had no trouble with it at all. 		« Return
