This is an exact copy of a Rough Wear 27752 Type A-2 jacket. It will be the main example for the web site, and it's available right now. The jacket is made with a strong and beautiful aniline-finish Italian horsehide, and all the other details are typical of Rough Wear originals. This jacket is very comfortable for someone of the right dimensions, and it looks great worn.

The Talon zipper has a vintage M-40 slider from WWII, and the snaps in the pockets are also from WWII—vintage United-Carr Anzo snaps from our vast collection of them.

This jacket has about four hours of easy use now. This would be achieved with the first day of wear for someone who kept it on for a while, so it's close to new condition. The grain is beginning to really pop, and will look amazing with about a month of wear in the jacket.

Our pattern is based off one original that we've taken apart, and several other Rough Wear A-2s that we've handled. Rough Wear had five contracts during WWII, and they made some of the most iconic and easily identified A-2s.

This jacket will ideally fit a person who is 5'10" to 6'1", with a chest circumference of 41-43", and weight of 175-200 pounds.
