This jacket is a beautiful original G-1 from the late 1940s/early 1950s. The jacket was made by Star Sportswear of Lynn, MA, a prolific military garment company. This jacket is in great shape, and quite wearable, and has all original parts. Though almost 70 years old, the jacket is comfortable and a sight to behold.

The leather is solid, with typical edge-wear around folded seams and areas that get wear. The leather is still very soft and comfortable, almost like new. The lining is in amazing condition, with only two holes in the center, more like a fray, about 1cm, and along the collar, the lining is as new. The knits are all original, robust, and there is only one tiny darned hole in the left cuff. The original Conmar zipper works great, though we always suggest to people that they use zippers carefully on anything vintage. The mouton is great as well. It even has the cloth size label under the main label—these often fall off after a short amount of wear.

There are a few tiny nicks to the leather here and there, but hardly anything worth mentioning. The leather is amazing in how beautiful the darker finish wears to the lighter base color. Ther was a name tag applied to the jacket at one point, but the stitch holes are quite faint and hard to see.

Note the name Lyon on the back side of the size tag. We know nothing about this individual.

The jacket fits quite large for a size 40, and almost fits John, but is a bit too tight in the torso and shoulders. It would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'10-6'1" with a chest of 39-41", and a weight of about 165-185 pounds.
