We have a large jacket that's a return for sizing (a second jacket is being made). This one features a new sheepskin we've acquired which we really like. It has superb weight, a soft feel, but the finish in particular is just wonderful. It looks like old-world leather, and will wear as such over time. This jacket is typical of vintage size 48 originals, so please read the measurements below.

The leather is chrome-tanned sheepskin, found in the USA, and it's full of natural grain. This pattern is made very similarly to Gordon & Ferguson's A-1 contract, including their label design.

The pockets are sewn last, once the jacket is a complete unit. This was often done with A-1 jackets, though we have seen examples made with pockets higher on the front panels, which were attached before the jacket is assembled.

These jackets are easy to wear, easy to button up, and are quite comfortable with leather of this softness. The wool collar is better than leather collars in the wind, and this jacket will only get better the more it's worn. This jacket has only been tried on, so it's in new condition.

We've used excellent parts, from the buttons to the snaps, and the knits are quite strong, being the latest format we've had for the last two years. They were custom-dyed and have superb tension.

The jacket would ideally fit someone in the range of 5'11" to 6'2" with a chest of 45.5"—47.5", and a weight of about 210-230 pounds. The wearer is 6' and 178 pounds, with a 41.5" chest.
