The last original that we copied was finished eight years ago, and with the recent purchase of another original, we knew we could make a slightly better pattern. We really like this one, and the shoulders are quite square, compared with the previous two patterns that we had developed. We've copied every nuance of what makes a United Sheeplined A-2 so unique, from the shoulders, the collar, the epaulets placed over a French-seam body joint, to the exact shape of the pocket and pocket flaps. The flaps are slightly longer than what is typical of Bronco, a related company. This jacket is made with a beautiful aniline finish cowhide, which has a firm hand and good weight—about the same as Shinki horsehide. The texture is quite cool. The color is more even than our photographs tend to show, and the knits aren't as dark, eigher (photography can be difficult!). This jacket has about two hours of wear, so it's close to new in condition. Note the original United-Carr snaps, which original United Sheeplined jackets were made with. DNA testing has been done by ELC on an original United Sheeplined, and cowhide is the resulting form of leather. This is accurate for the contract.
