This jacket has been made by a North American company that we are now partners with.
The jacket is made to our exact pattern, and is made with Shinki russet horsehide,
along with all of our parts for the Ventura. The jacket is superb, and the horsehide
is dense and with beautiful grain.
The company has rock-solid experience making vintage clothing, and our plan is to have
a line of Venturas that they produce in horsehide, cowhide, and goatskin, both seal and
russet in shade. We will start off with a small number of size 44s, and then expand to
stock sizes in even chest inches.
The lining is a very comfortable wool, with only the slightest texture. This is the same
wool seen on our current Ventura of the web site.
The fit of the jacket is quite comfortable in the right size. We have made the sleeves a
little bit longer so that the leather creasing of the arms will account for a little bit
of shortening (it's around a half of an inch). The design is quite sharp.
