Type A-2: David D. Doniger

The A-2s made by David D. Doniger are known for having a very unique look among most A-2 jackets. They were made with very pointed collar tips, epaulets over the body seam, and angular pocket flaps but rounded pocket bodies. The sleeves are also inset, which is more complex to produce than a simple sleeve attachment.

The Doniger pattern is quite comfortable, with large shoulder and large sleeve holes. The body is somewhat trim, but still has enough room for it to be easy to wear. The Donigers were all made in goatskin, and our goatskin is astoundingly close to original Doniger goatskin in feel, grain and color.

Details of this contract:
  • russet goatskin
  • easy fitting torso and wide, comfortable shoulders
  • very pointed collar tips
  • epaulets with subtle curve over body seam
  • mustard lining and usually a medium brown thread color
  • ball stud snaps
  • mid-brown knits
  • bell Talon zippers
This jacket is both easy to wear and has an athletic design.
