Good Wear Leather Coat Company offers a number of Type A-2 contract reproductions, along with several other types of historic jackets. We will have more patterns over time as well, but the jackets shown at this point are great choices, with solid variation in fit and design from one to the other. Please note the list to the left with links to each pattern.

Each jacket is made with material seen in jackets made during WWII. Along with excellent leather, we use 100% cotton for our linings, knits made of wool, and the cuffs have the correct two-weave design. We use 100% cotton thread, and many color variants seen in WWII jackets are available—an original Aero may have light brown thread, or OD green. We offer both.

Zippers from WWII are available as well. We have a very limited supply of Talons as seen on Type A-2 jackets as well as Conmars. Once that supply has run out, we will be using excellent Talon reproductions newly made available to Good Wear Leather.

You may choose the leather of your preference for each contract, though we know some contracts from WWII were made only with one kind of hide. We will, by default, use knits of the proper color for each contract, and some knits will have several choices for a given contract. Aero made jackets with red or brown knits, and our Good Wear 21996 will have these two choices. Most original Dubow knits had a dull purple-brown hue, but some didn't, so we'll offer either color.

Once a customer is ready to order a jacket, our page on sizing a jacket will help tremendously to get the correct size. We will work with you to ensure the body, sleeves, and shoulders are all of the correct dimensions.

Knits:

We have six colors available.

• dull mid-brown
• dull yellow-brown
• dark brown
• pure red (ala vintage Aero)
• dull purple (Dubow)
• dark brown U.S. Navy rib-rack

Vintage WWII Zippers:

We have been able to source a number of zippers from WWII that are in working order, usually in New Old Stock condition (NOS). We now have many Talons as seen on most A-2s, and then a small number of Conmars and Crowns. Here are photos and prices of what we offer:

WWII Talon $100.00 each
WWII Conmar $150.00 each
WWII Crown $250.00 each
1950s Talon (for some civilian jackets) $50.00

Thread:

We use 100% cotton thread, and have these choices now:

• mid-brown
• dark brown
• dark tan (usually Dubow 27798)
• dull OD green
• bright OD green
